Originally from Fargo, North Dakota, Julie moved out to Colorado for college and fell in love with it! Julie has been teaching since 2003 and has taught 3rd, 4th, and 6th grade. Julie loves being a part of helping students realize how to grow as learners. When not at school, Julie spends most of her free time with her family. Her husband, Kevin, is also a teacher. Her son, Trey, keeps her busy with hockey! Julie loves exercising, watching sports, cheering on the Colorado Avalanche, and country music. A favorite book of Julie’s is Hatchet by Gary Paulsen because she remembers reading it in 5th grade and getting “captured” by the book and not wanting to put it down. She also enjoys reading nonfiction.
