Dear Arapahoe Ridge Elementary Community,
It is with gratitude that I start the 2020-2021 school year as your interim principal. I am truly grateful to be a part of such a welcoming, caring school community. As we all know, there will be challenges to overcome in this Covid landscape, but with this strong staff, parent community and student body, we will rise to the challenge.
Let me share a few things about my professional background. I have been in education for over 20 years and began my teaching career in Milwaukee, WI as a second grade teacher in a title 1 bilingual school. I met my husband and moved to Winter Park, CO and continued teaching elementary school for another 5 years. Wanting to grow, I took a job as a peer observer for Denver Public Schools. My director encouraged me to apply for the Ritchie Program for School Leaders through DU and became an assistant principal for a couple of years. This led me to Adams 12 and my first principal position four year ago. Throughout all of these roles I have always committed to showing positivity, transparency, integrity and collaboration. My goal is to continue leading with these values in all areas.
Strong, trusting relationships are also important to me. While remote learning will be a bit of a hurdle, I will work tirelessly to create and maintain true connections with all our students, families and staff. Together we will achieve amazing things!
With much appreciation,
