Welcome to Arapahoe Ridge Elementary

Arapahoe Ridge Elementary celebrated our 20th Anniversary as a school during the 18-19 school year! We opened our doors in 1998 and the school was founded on a strong belief in  professional development and collaboration to reflect and fine-tune instruction to help students of all levels. Today, our skillful and warm-hearted staff continue this collaborative notion. We meet weekly for professional development training that is aligned to our school improvement strategies and we value student focused conversations and decision making. We maximize our teaching by utilizing data protocols to consistently analyze  student work and align expectations across grade levels.

Our school shares pride in our vision:  Arapahoe Ridge joyfully engages all learners to be critical thinkers who are empowered to reach their highest potential.

With this scope, we will collectively help your child succeed in a learning environment that is encouraging, safe, and engaging.  Our staff is dedicated to using best practices to help every student create a deeper love of learning while developing their emotional, social, and academic growth. We look forward to working closely with you throughout the school year so your child has an excellent experience in elementary school.

Did You Know

  • On average, our highly trained staff members have taught for 10 years or more and 1/3 of our teachers have been at Arapahoe Ridge for more than ten years.  60% of our teachers hold Master’s Degrees.

  • We have received multiple recognitions for our outstanding academic growth on State assessments. Most recently, we earned the Governor’s Award for Distinguished Improvement in 2016.

  •  More than 200 students participate in various after-school activities including drama club, choir, student leadership, art club, book club, running club, Girls on the Run, Battle of the Books and a school newspaper club.

  • Our school opened its doors to a 12,000 square foot addition in 18-19. This addition  brought 12 additional classrooms to our school allowing us to eliminate mobile classrooms. . This was made possible by the Bond that our community passed in 2016. Our existing building was also renovated and you will find state of the art technology in all classrooms in our school.

  • We have an active Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO) which coordinates several school-wide community events. PTO also fundraises for our entire school community. Most recently, our PTO helped us achieve 1:1 Chromebooks for students grades 1 – 5.

  • Our school hosts an annual Fun Run to support healthy choices and community building! Each spring we have a Celebration of Learning  which showcases our students’ academic highlights and growth and our 5th graders host a Service Learning Project that supports endangered animals. They learn the true value of collaboration and giving back.

  •  According to a parent of two A.R.E. students, “We couldn’t be happier with Arapahoe Ridge, our local, public school.  It’s an established school with a great community and experienced, knowledgeable staff. Our kids love going to school!”

At Arapahoe Ridge we believe in the African proverb, “It takes a village to raise a child.”  We are humbled to be the “village” that shares an excitement for learning with your children.

The holidays are coming and we are excited to bring this festive shopping experience back to ARE! It's the season of giving and this is a simple way to encourage children to think of and choose a gift for others. The Holiday Shop provides students the opportunity to independently and secretly shop for a special gift for family members, friends or teachers! Click here for a Holiday Shop Preview to help your student start thinking about what they may want to buy.

The Holiday Shop will be OPEN for students during school on December 1st, 2nd and 3rd. Keep an eye out for a flyer that will come home on Tuesday 11/30 with more information and instructions. Prices will range from $15.00-$0.75. Most items will be $6.00 or less! You can choose to send cash or purchase a shopping voucher gift card online (information will be on the flyer).

We need as many helping hands as possible. Interested in volunteering? Click here
